Description
Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is the major health and wellbeing provider for a population of 1.8 million people across Lancashire and South Cumbria. A provider of mental health, learning disability services, autism and community based services we employ over 7,000 members of staff operating in 25 CQC registered sites with an annual budget of over £500 million.
At a time of transformation and ambition, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Integrated Governance for this newly established role, reporting to our Deputy Chief Executive/Chief Medical Officer and working closely with the Executive Team to lead our integrated governance agenda. This is a critical role, central to ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and regulatory clinical compliance across our wide range of essential services.
Our Director of Integrated Governance will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all clinical governance functions – from patient safety, complaints, and legal services to CQC compliance, clinical audit, and evidence-based practice. You will champion a culture of psychological safety, continuous learning, and improvement, ensuring that our governance frameworks are robust, responsive, embedded and aligned with our quality management system.
We are seeking a skilled communicator and collaborative team player with a passion for quality and improvement. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders across the health and care system, you will be a lead interface with regulators, system partners, and external agencies. Your influence will extend from ward to Board—shaping policy, and embedding a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Your ability to lead through collaboration, coach and develop others, and navigate complexity will be key to your success.
